パリの空を彩るきらびやかな花火。「La Déclamation Théâtrale」の表紙を再現したこの美しい装丁を見ていると、そんな光景が心に浮かびます。1766年に出版された「La Déclamation Théâtrale」は、Claude J. Doratの手による教訓詩です。批評家の酷評を受けながらも、Doratの旺盛な創作意欲はけっして衰えることはありませんでした。有名な大詩人とはいえないものの、詩作に対するDoratの飽くなき情熱は称賛に価するものです。
